From Pallet to Canvas
Imagine the painter who mixes colors on his pallet to render the precise shades he wants to achieve only to find that when he touches his brush from pallet to canvas, the colors change. For digital artists, video monitors act as both pallet and canvas. Since we built our first monitors, a common concern that engineers and artists alike have expressed is that the variety of reference monitors used throughout their workflow simply don’t match. At eCinema Systems we understand this very well. Color accuracy is what drives us.
Our origins trace back to years in high-end Telecine and DI workflow engineering where consistent, reproducible color is absolutely essential. It is because of this that we have devoted years to improving image monitoring, with accuracy at all levels being our primary goal.
eDESK PRO provides editors and artists with either one or two 23” 1920 x 1200 computer (graphical user interface) GUI-2310 monitors and one 23” full 1920x1080 PRO-2310 program monitor, each utilizing full 10-bit LCD panels for the accurate display of up to 1.07 billion colors at the pixel. 10 bits also allow 1024 luminence levels per channel vs. only 256 levels at 8 bits, producing more accurate fine detail in the shadow areas of the image.

Timing is Everything
The eCinemaeDESK PRO system also addresses the issue of monitor delay. In many editing, graphics and FX applications there is a delay between the computer output and the HD-SDI output, resulting in an annoying visual lag between computer and program monitors. eDESK PRO eliminates this delay entirely.
No matter what application you are using, there will be zero frames of delay between your monitors. With eDESK PRO you can accurately match all your monitors, from set to post, room to room, time after time, thus ensuring that the canvas always matches the pallet and vice-versa.
Calibration Made Easy
At the heart of the eDESK PRO system is our exclusive Monitor Fingerprinting Technology (MFT). The days of going from room to room trying to match monitors with expensive calibration hardware and software are over. With MFT, multiple monitor calibration is as simple as pushing a button.
Our eCinema Probe stores the master monitor’s “fingerprint” so that every PRO class monitor anywhere in the world can be quickly and easily matched. This greatly reduces the time and complexity required to not only match all your video reference monitors, but also your computer interface monitors. It also lays to rest any uncertainty or confusion that may arise about which monitors are calibrated in a facility.
